Where your sample goes
Our Laboratory
Your saliva sample is analysed by Complement Genomics, a specialist DNA testing laboratory at the Durham Genome Centre in Lanchester, County Durham.
About Complement Genomics
Complement Genomics was founded in 2000. It provides DNA testing for businesses, researchers and the public, including relationship testing, genotyping for clinical trials and wildlife testing.
It holds UKAS accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 (laboratory number 2743) for specified tests, and is approved by the Ministry of Justice to carry out parentage tests for the civil courts. The GeneticEdge marker test is not currently within that accredited scope.
What happens to your sample
- Your sample arrives at the laboratory in the return packaging from your kit.
- The laboratory extracts DNA from your saliva.
- It tests the five genetic markers in your panel.
- It sends the results to GeneticEdge, and we turn them into your report.
The laboratory uses your sample only for the test you order. Read Sample Handling for how long a sample is kept, and the Privacy Policy for how your information is protected.
